Michael D. Higgins President Elect of Ireland.

Congratulations and good wishes to Michael D. Higgins who has been elected the 9th President of Ireland. To his wife Sabina and their family our best wishes are also extended. His inauguration as President of Ireland will take place on 11th November, 2011.

Thurles By-Pass Route announced

The much needed and preferred route for the Thurles By-Pass project has been announced and will result in the construction of an 8km stretch of roadway around the town. The project is estimated to cost in the region of 48 million Euro. The project will result in 40 acres of land being utilised through Compulsory Purchase Orders. However, no homes will be affected by the route. The route is now on display in the offices of Thurles Town Council, Slievenamon Road, Thurles, Thurles Library, The Source, Cathedral Street, Thurles and North Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary. They will be on display until Friday 11th November, 2011.
