NEW YEAR WISHES

Thurles Marketing Group wishes good health and happiness to all for 2011. We look forward to 2011 with confidence and hope that it will be a very good year for business for the town. Thurles is renowned for the quality of it's shopping outlets, as evidenced not just by the support of the people of the town itself, but by the vast numbers who regularly make the journey to Thurles to avail of it's immense facilities. We ask all to continue to support Thurles. It is also important that all the agencies associated with entrepeneurship put Thurles at the core of their agendas, so that by working together we can continue to develop the infrastructure and business development of Thurles to the benefit of everyone.

Death of John Doyle Legendary Tipperary Hurler

It is with great sadness that we note the death of Mr. John Doyle, the great and legendary Tipperary Hurler. John was without doubt one of the great hurlers of his time. This is proven in the achievements he recorded in his career- eight All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship medals, eleven National League medals, six Railway Cup medals and three County Senior medals. To his wife Anne, sons Johnny and Michael, and daughters Colette, Margaret, Anne-Marie, Sandra and Elizabeth we offer our sincere sympathy. May John rest in peace.

The TIPPERARY VENUE gets the go ahead

Hearty congratulations to Thurles native, Richard Quirke , the promoter behind €460 million Tipperary Venue who was last week granted planning permission for the construction of this magnificent development. The build will take place on a 900 acre site at Two Mile Borris, Thurles. This is a huge step forward for the 160,000 Square Metre development which will provide 1,000 jobs during construction and employ 2,000 on opening. This has been the largest planning application ever submitted to North Tipperary County Council which will benefit to the tune of €4.1 million in development charges. We wish Richard all the best on this project and look forward to working with him for the benefit of the project and Thurles.
