Tipperary outshine Rebel challenge

The sun shone on the homeside in Thurles last Sunday as Tipperary held off a rousing Rebel challenge in the Munster hurling championship quarter final. The blazing heat was matched by a frantic pace from the first whistle to the last as more than 35,000 spectators witnessed a nip and tuck encounter in which Liam Sheedy's men managed to come out on top. Thurles had the honour of having four men on the panel for Sunday's game. They were Padraic Maher, Lar Corbett, Michael Cahill and Pa Bourke. In the earlier game Thurles were also represented by having Connie Maher manage the Tipperary intermediate team in their loss to Cork. Well done to all those involve. They all did Thurles Sarsfields and Thurles Town proud.
